West Hampstead residents are spoilt for choice at the moment for opportunities to express views on developments in the neighbourhood.

Camden council is consulting on whether to extend the operating hours of some streets in the CA-P parking zone which currently have restrictions only between 10.00 and 12.00. As Northwest 6 previously reported, this arises out of last year's consultation. There's no formal proposal at this stage to extend operating hours. The current exercise is intended to get more clarity on residents' views. More details are available on Camden's website. You have until 3rd December to submit your views.

Meanwhile, plans are firming up to re-open the defunct West Hampstead Community Centre under new management. It's proposed that a new organisation, called Mill Lane Neighbourhood Centre, take over the facilities - which include the centre itself, the community hall on Broomsleigh Street and the charity shop at the corner of Broomsleigh Street and Mill Lane. A public meeting is to be held in the community hall on Thursday 27th November at 7pm.

And West Hampstead and Fortune Green councillors are holding a more general public meeting the evening before to seek views on how the few parks and open spaces in the area are managed. They will also be giving information about plans to expand Emmanuel School. The meeting is on Wednesday 26th November at 7.30pm in Hampstead Synagogue Hall on Dennington Park Road, NW6.
