West Hampstead residents are spoilt for choice at the moment for opportunities to express views on developments in the neighbourhood.
Camden council is consulting on whether to extend the operating hours of some streets in the CA-P parking zone which currently have restrictions only between 10.00 and 12.00. As Northwest 6 previously reported, this arises out of last year's consultation. There's no formal proposal at this stage to extend operating hours. The current exercise is intended to get more clarity on residents' views. More details are available on Camden's website. You have until 3rd December to submit your views.
Meanwhile, plans are firming up to re-open the defunct West Hampstead Community Centre under new management. It's proposed that a new organisation, called Mill Lane Neighbourhood Centre, take over the facilities - which include the centre itself, the community hall on Broomsleigh Street and the charity shop at the corner of Broomsleigh Street and Mill Lane. A public meeting is to be held in the community hall on Thursday 27th November at 7pm.
And West Hampstead and Fortune Green councillors are holding a more general public meeting the evening before to seek views on how the few parks and open spaces in the area are managed. They will also be giving information about plans to expand Emmanuel School. The meeting is on Wednesday 26th November at 7.30pm in Hampstead Synagogue Hall on Dennington Park Road, NW6.

Community Association for West Hampstead.
Will be having a meeting in the Community Hall, Broomsleigh Street, NW6, Friday 12 Dec starting at 7.30pm.
A Steering Group of local people who have been working on what a new association could be.
The collapse of West Hampstead Community Association earlier this year has left a significant gap in our community.
Our ambition is to create an association which looks outwards, which supports and develops a wide range of community activities to meet local needs, and draws in all ages and sections of the community. We have surveyed local residents to get their views on what an association should provide and do.
We want this new association to be strongly led and managed by local people.
At the meeting on the 12th December we will bring our ideas to a public forum.
We will invite the meeting to agree the outline of a programme, agree a constitution and select a committee to form the Association and take it forward.
We are briefing Councilors and Council Officers about our plans and intentions.
Do join us on the 12th December.
Our aim is to collaborate with all sections of the community in West Hampstead.
We welcome your support.
