Last week, we noted, amid the departure of several West Hampstead institutions, the anniversary of The Kitchen Table - an established part of the local landscape after only a year in business.
Today marks another anniversary - that of Northwest 6, which first hit the internet four years ago. It started as a bit of an experiment and I can't say I was sure there would be enough material to sustain it for months, let alone years.
Admittedly, the rate of posting has been sporadic - sometimes because there has not been much to report; sometimes because I've found it hard to find time to update the blog amid the normal commitments of life. That said, I can't think of many significant issues missed apart from the saga over the provision of a new secondary school in Swiss Cottage.
Northwest 6 is different from other blogs, in that it's not setting out to be a vehicle for comment by its author. I'm even clearer now than when I started that there's value in the original idea of providing factual news and information below the level of that which is covered by traditional local media.
Thanks to everyone who reads it and to those who send in messages of support. Let's see if we can make it to five years.
